Digital Pathways to Career Success
A dynamic Digital Employability Skills (ES) Curriculum, designed to prepare over 250,000 learners across India for the modern job market. Through engaging modules on Financial Literacy, Diversity & Inclusion, and Entrepreneurship, we aimed to empower students with essential 21st-century skills.
Post the COVID-19 pandemic, young learners in India are facing challenges in adapting to a rapidly changing job market. To address this, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), in collaboration with Quest Alliance, National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), and the Future Right Skills Network, introduced a new Digital ES Curriculum.
Fold Labs played a pivotal role in designing three core modules as part of the Digital Employability Skills (ES) Curriculum. Using learning science principles and a story based curriculum, we focused on creating content that not only captured attention but also enhanced retention, equipping learners with critical 21st-century skills. The curriculum aims to be accessible to Vocational Training Institute (VTI) students across India via the Bharat Skills Portal, with a reach expected to impact over 250,000 learners.
STRATEGY ONE
Story-based Learning
The curriculum is driven by narratives centred around the Character Universe. Each character’s story reflects real-life challenges, making abstract concepts tangible and relatable. This approach helps learners emotionally connect with the content, increasing motivation and retention.
STRATEGY TWO
Cognitive & Emotional Hooks
Each lesson incorporates hooks to capture learners' attention and engage them both cognitively and emotionally. These hooks help learners focus and better absorb the material, providing a structured, enjoyable learning experience.
